Indian Veterinary Association, Kerala cordially invites veterinarians, scientists, academicians, researchers, postgraduate and undergraduate students, field practitioners, wildlife professionals, livestock farmers, entrepreneurs, administrators and representatives of allied industries to participate in the 18th Veterinary Science Congress 2026 and National Seminar.

The two-day Congress will provide a multidisciplinary platform for scientific exchange, presentation of original research, discussion of field-level challenges and interaction among professionals working across animal health, livestock production, public health, wildlife, companion-animal practice, entrepreneurship and veterinary education.

The programme will include keynote and lead lectures, seven scientific sessions, oral and poster presentations, practitioner-oriented discussions, awards and honours and an Entrepreneur and Farmer Meet.

The College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy is a premier constituent college of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University and a major centre for veterinary education, clinical service, research and extension in Kerala.

The campus is located at Mannuthy in Thrissur, a centrally situated city with convenient road and rail connectivity. Thrissur railway station and the KSRTC bus station provide easy access from different parts of Kerala. Cochin International Airport is the nearest major airport.

The college campus offers an appropriate academic environment for scientific sessions, professional interaction, exhibitions and farmer-oriented programmes. Thrissur is also renowned for its cultural heritage, educational institutions and easy connectivity to major destinations in the State.

Indian Veterinary Association Kerala

Indian Veterinary Association, Kerala is a leading professional organisation representing veterinarians working and residing in the State. The Association has more than 2,500 members engaged in clinical practice, livestock production, veterinary education, research, wildlife management, breeding, public health, administration and allied sectors.

IVA Kerala works towards professional advancement through scientific conferences, continuing veterinary education programmes, farmer education initiatives, leadership programmes, professional publications and observance of nationally and internationally important days.

The Association received the World Veterinary Day Award 2020, instituted by the World Veterinary Association and HealthforAnimals, in recognition of its activities based on the global theme of World Veterinary Day. IVA Kerala was also selected among the leading participating associations in the World Veterinary Day celebrations of 2021.

Through the Veterinary Science Congress, IVA Kerala aims to connect scientific research with field-level veterinary practice and livestock-sector development.

The Kerala Veterinary Science Congress was conceived by Indian Veterinary Association, Kerala in 2003 and has been organised annually since 2009. It provides a multidisciplinary platform for presenting scientific findings, sharing clinical experience, discussing livestock-sector challenges and developing practical solutions through research, innovation and professional collaboration.

The Congress encourages participation by postgraduate and undergraduate students, faculty members, researchers, field veterinarians, wildlife professionals, livestock entrepreneurs and representatives of allied industries. It enables young professionals to showcase their scientific work, practitioners to share field experience and researchers to interact with experts from different areas of veterinary and animal sciences.

The 18th Veterinary Science Congress will be held on 14 and 15 November 2026 at the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy, Thrissur.

Scientific Sessions

Scientific, research and clinical abstracts are invited from postgraduate students, undergraduate students, faculty members, scientists, field veterinarians and professionals from allied sectors for oral and poster presentation under the following seven technical sessions.

Session Ⅰ

Basic Veterinary and Allied Sciences

Fundamental and translational work in anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, microbiology, parasitology, pharmacology, biotechnology, bioinformatics, diagnostics, food science and other allied areas.

Session Ⅱ

Farm Animal Health

Research and field experience relating to cattle, buffalo, small ruminants, pigs and other farm animals, with emphasis on preventive health, diagnosis, therapeutics, reproduction, herd health and biosecurity.

Session Ⅲ

A Practitioner’s Approach to Disease Conditions

Problem-oriented clinical approaches, field diagnosis, therapeutic decision-making, emergency management, case reports and practical solutions relevant to veterinary practitioners.

Session Ⅳ

Climate Change, One Health and Wildlife

Climate-sensitive animal-health challenges, zoonoses, antimicrobial resistance, ecosystem health, wildlife medicine, disease interfaces, conservation, conflict mitigation and One Health approaches.

Session Ⅴ

Livestock and Poultry Production

Breeding, nutrition, management, poultry production, livestock products, extension, economics, entrepreneurship, welfare, precision farming, value addition and sustainable production systems.

Session Ⅵ

Pet Birds and Companion Animal Health

Preventive medicine, diagnostics, clinical and surgical care, nutrition, behaviour, welfare and emerging health issues in dogs, cats, pet birds and other companion animals.

Session VII

Budding Vets Session

A dedicated platform for undergraduate veterinary students to present scientific ideas, innovations, case-based learning, reviews, field observations and emerging professional perspectives.

Careers in Veterinary Science: Pathways, Opportunities and Impact

The upcoming 18th edition of Veterinary Science Congress organized by Indian Veterinary Association (IVA) Kerala during 14th – 15th November 2025 at the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Pookode, Wayanad will focus on contributing strategies for developing the human resources in the Veterinary and Animal Husbandry sector to contribute to the vision of Hamara Sankalp Viksit Bharat. As a part of this initiative, IVA Kerala is launching a Academia-Industry Meet, Vet Vistas- 2025 on 7th November, 2025 in association with the Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Pookode.
