Invitation

Dear doctor,

The Indian Veterinary Association, Kerala is the largest professional organisation of veterinarians working or residing in the state of Kerala with around 2500 member veterinarians enrolled in 16 units in all districts of Kerala as well as the two veterinary colleges under Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University. The association has shouldered the prime responsibility of upgrading the veterinary profession by designing appropriate platforms for academia, students, veterinary practitioners, wild life experts and veterinarians in industry and and allied sectors to engage in meaningful deliberations on recent trends and strategies to face the challenges of the ever transforming livestock sector.

Several activities are being undertaken by the association for capacity building and information sharing. These include the Kerala Veterinary Science Congress, Continuing Veterinary Education programmes, Continuing Farmer Education programmes, leadership camps, commemoration of important days like the World Veterinary Day, World Zoonoses Day and World Rabies Day as well as the Annual Convention of Veterinarians of Kerala. IVA Kerala could secure the international World Veterinary Day Award for the world's best veterinary association, that captured the theme of World Veterinary Day – 2020, instituted by the World Veterinary Association and Health for Animals.

Indian Veterinary Association, Kerala is also committed to assuring scientific veterinary practice with high standards of professionalism and ethics for the promotion of animal and public health. It gives us immense pleasure to announce our prestigious annual event, the 16th Kerala Veterinary Science Congress this year, on the theme “One Health Approaches for the Prevention and Control of Emerging Zoonoses”. From 2009 onwards, the event is being conducted annually. Despite the restrictions imposed by COVID 19 pandemic, for last four years we succeeded in conducting this unique scientific meet in online mode as well. This year, we have scheduled the Kerala Veterinary Science Congress 2024 in offline mode at the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy.

Whole hearted support and co-operation from all is expected. The programme will span for three days with many other associated scientific programmes spread over preceding week under the auspices of the college campus. Scientific papers will be presented by speakers and eminent scientists of national and international repute along with an exclusive session for practicing veterinarians. We sincerely hope that the fruitful deliberations during this mega-event will be benefitting the veterinarians across the state and beyond. We cordially invite one and all to kindly save the dates from your busy calendar and be a part of this vivacious occasion.
