Dear doctor,

Indian Veterinary Association, Kerala is always instrumental in working towards continual improvement of our profession through setting up appropriate platforms for scientists, academicians, researchers, students, field practitioners, wildlife experts and veterinarians associated with allied sectors for providing insights into recent trends and strategies to face the challenges in the current period. It is the largest professional organisation of veterinarians working or residing in the state of Kerala with around 2500 member veterinarians at present and units in all the 14 districts of Kerala and two veterinary colleges under Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University.

Several activities are undertaken by the association for capacity building and information sharing. These include Kerala Veterinary Science Congress, Continuing Veterinary Education programmes, Continuing Farmer Education programmes, leadership camps, commemoration of important days like World Veterinary Day, World Zoonoses Day and World Rabies Day as well as the Annual Convention of Veterinarians of Kerala. We could secure the international World Veterinary Day Award during 2020 instituted by World Veterinary Association and Health for Animals for the world's best association in embodying the theme of World Veterinary Day – 2020. Moreover, IVA Kerala was one among the best ten teams selected from all over the globe in the World Veterinary Day Celebrations in 2021.

Indian Veterinary Association, Kerala is also devoted to promote scientific veterinary practice with high standards of professionalism and ethics for the preservation of animal and public health. With this objective in mind, let me inform you with pleasure and this year, we are organising our prestigious annual event, 15 th Kerala Veterinary Science Congress during 18th and 19th November, 2023 as an international seminar for the first time on the theme “Exploring the boundless Horizons of Veterinary Profession- Unleashing a New Era Worldwide”. From 2009 onwards, the event is being conducted annually. Despite the restrictions imposed by COVID 19 pandemic, for last three years we succeeded in conducting this unique scientific meet in online mode as well. This year, we have scheduled the Kerala Veterinary Science Congress 2023 in offline mode at the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Pookode.

Whole hearted support and co-operation from all is expected. The programme will span for two days with many other associated scientific programmes spread over preceding week under the auspices of the college campus. Scientific papers will be presented by speakers and eminent scientists of national and international repute along with an exclusive session for practicing veterinarians. We sincerely hope that the fruitful deliberations during this mega-event will be benefitting the veterinarians across the state and beyond.

We cordially invite one and all to kindly save the dates from your busy calendar and be a part of this vivacious occasion.
