The Indian Veterinary Association, Kerala and the Organising Committee of the 17th Veterinary Science Congress (VSC) cordially invite your gracious presence for this landmark event.

Indian Veterinary Association Kerala

The Indian Veterinary Association Kerala (IVA Kerala) is the only professional body representing veterinarians working or residing in Kerala. Formally registered in 1979 under the Charitable Societies Act, it has around 2,300 active members across sectors like the Animal Husbandry Department, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, MILMA, Kerala Feeds, and various R&D and private institutions. IVA Kerala is affiliated with the national Indian Veterinary Association and the World Veterinary Association (WVA).

Journal of Indian Veterinary Association (JIVA)

A quarterly, peer-reviewed scientific journal with a NAAS rating of 3.85.

IVA Kerala is dedicated to enhancing the veterinary profession through capacity building and upholding public and animal health. In recognition of its contributions, it was awarded the prestigious World Veterinary Day Award by the World Veterinary Association in 2020.

To promote professional excellence and public awareness, IVA Kerala organizes and commemorates several key technical and awareness days including World Veterinary Day, World Zoonoses Day, World Rabies Day, and World Milk Day. It also conducts events like the Veterinary Science Congress (with 16 editions completed), Leadership Camps, Lady Veterinarian’s Day, Arts and Cultural Fest, Sports Meet, and the Annual Convention of Kerala Veterinarians.

Veterinary Science Congress is a coveted annual scientific meet of the veterinary professionals working in various sectors of veterinary clinical practice, research and development, veterinary education as well as livestock and poultry entrepreneurship. The event is a flagship programme of IVA Kerala since 2009 and now celebrating its 17 th edition during 7th – 9th November 2025. The various scientific sessions and the deliberations of the event will be aiming at revitalizing the livestock, poultry and allied sectors to identify solutions for the emerging challenges in animal production, healthcare, management, welfare and one-health aspects of livestock, wildlife and public health. The event will also conduct a Farmer-Scientist Meet for the selected farmers of the State to enable the ‘lab to land’ and ‘grass to glass’ dissemination of technologies.

Scientific Advancements and Sustainable Technologies in Animal Production, Health and Allied sectors for Viksit Bharat

The National Conference of 17 Veterinary Science Congress is scheduled to have six technical sessions based on the special themes and the relevance of veterinary profession in the current scenario. Each session will be led by thematic presentations by eminent speakers and scholars in the relevant field.

Session Ⅰ

Veterinary Science In Clinical Practice

This session will focus on field experiences and technical papers from registered field veterinary practitioners.

Session Ⅱ

Basic Veterinary & Allied Sciences

This session will discuss on basic sciences like Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Parasitology and Pharmacology.

Session Ⅲ

Animal Health Sciences

The session will deal with scientific papers from the disciplines of Clinical medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Preventive Medicine & Epidemiology and Diagnostics.

Session Ⅳ

Animal Production, Management & Welfare

Areas of Animal Breeding & Genetics, Nutrition & Feed Technology, Avian & Livestock Production Management, Livestock Products Technology, Animal Husbandry Extension, Entrepreneurship, Livestock Economics & Marketing, Animal Welfare and Climate change.

Session Ⅴ

Wildlife Management & Veterinary Science

A special emphasis will be given to conservation, management, welfare, health, ethology and man-animal conflicts and concerns in the field of wildlife all over the world in this session.

Session Ⅵ

Animal Health Takes A Team

In line with the global theme of World Veterinary Day of 2025, the emerging concerns in the field of animal health like anti-microbial resistance (AMR) and the One Health Initiatives will be discussed in this satellite session.

Careers in Veterinary Science: Pathways, Opportunities and Impact

The upcoming 17th edition of Veterinary Science Congress organized by Indian Veterinary Association (IVA) Kerala during 7th – 9th November 2025 at the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Pookode, Wayanad will focus on contributing strategies for developing the human resources in the Veterinary and Animal Husbandry sector to contribute to the vision of Hamara Sankalp Viksit Bharat. As a part of this initiative, IVA Kerala is launching a Academia-Industry Meet, Vet Vistas- 2025 on 7th November, 2025 in association with the Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Pookode.

Farmer-Scientist Meet

The programme is aimed at facilitating the mutual exchange of technical and scientific knowledge between livestock farmers and scientists to support their livelihood options as well as to align the goals of the scientific community in terms of research and capacity building towards sustainable and innovative farming practices, evidence-based recommendations and cutting edge technological interventions. The meet will be a dynamic interface where science meets practice and tradition meets innovation.
