The 11th Kerala Veterinary Science Congress will be held at

The 11th Kerala Veterinary Science Congress will be held at College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Pookode, Wayanad Kerala on 9thand10thof November 2019. Wayanad, the green paradise is nestled among the mountains of the Western Ghats, forming the border world of the greener part of Kerala. Clean and pristine, enchanting and hypnotizing, this land is filled with history and culture. Located at a distance of 76 km. from the sea shores of Kozhikode, this verdant hill station is full of plantations, forests and wildlife. Wayanad hills are contiguous to Mudumalai in Tamil Nadu and Bandipur in Karnataka, thus forming a vast land mass for the wild life to move about in their most natural abode. Wayanad district stands on the southern top of the Deccan plateau and its chief glory is the majestic Western Ghats with lofty ridges and rugged terrain interspersed with dense forest, tangled jungles and deep valleys. The place also enjoys a strategic location as the leading tourist centres of South India like Ooty, Mysore, Bangalore, Coorg and Kannur are situated around this region.

Wayanad is unique in that it is situated in an elevated picturesque mountainous plateau in the Western Ghats. The vast stretches of mist - capped mountains, green meadows of valleys, white water springs, blue water lakes and wild forests express the splendid natural beauty of Wayanad. Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary, Chethalayam Waterfall, Sri Mahaganapathy Temple at Thiruvangoor, Pazhassi Raja Museum, Pookote Lake and Edakkal Caves are the prime tourist attractions of Wayanad. Besides, Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary, Tholpetty, Karappuzha Dam, Jain Temple at Sultan Bathery,MeenmuttyFalls, Soochippara Waterfalls, ChembraHills, Bird Sanctuary in north Wayanad, Thirunelly Temple and Kuruva Islands are the other nearby tourist destinations in and around Wayanad.

SCIENTIFIC SESSIONS

The 11th-Kerala Veterinary Science Congress is scheduled to have four technical sessions based on relevant themes of veterinary profession in the current scenario and a special session for farmers. Each session will be lead by thematic presentations by eminent speakers and scholars in the relevant field.

Session I VETERINARY SCIENCE IN PRACTICE

Session will focus on field experiences and technical papers by registered field veterinary practitioners.

Session II ANIMAL HEALTH SCIENCES & WILDLIFE

Session will deal with disciplines of Clinical Medicine, Surgery, Animal Reproduction, Epidemiology & Preventive Medicine, Public Health and Diagnostics, Wildlife.

Session III BASIC VETERINARY & ALLIED SCIENCES

Session will discuss on Veterinary Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Parasitology, Biotechnology and Pharmacology.

Session IV ANIMAL PRODUCTION & MANAGEMENT

Session will give emphasis to areas of Animal Breeding 8, Genetics, Nutrition & Feed Technology, Avian 8, Livestock Production Management, Livestock Products Technology, Animal Husbandry Extension, Entrepreneurship, Livestock Economics & Marketing, Animal Welfare and Environment Management.

Special under graduate poster session

Under graduate students shall only be entitled for poster presentation for the research work done under the guidance of a veterinaryfaculty(with guidance certificate) on veterinary / animal science subject.

Session Special: Exhibition and Farmers’ Seminar

An exhibition showcasing the technology innovations, research and developments in Animal Husbandry sector will be held at Kalpetta, Wayanad district as a curtain raiser to 11th KSC during the last week of October 2019

REGISTRATION AND ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

Scientific/ Research/ Clinical papers are invited for oral/ poster presentation in each of the four technical sessions of the Congress and special session for students. The research papers must be based on original work of authors, which has not been published/presented in the same form elsewhere in print or electronic media. The abstracts not exceeding 250 words, editable MS word format, Times New Roman, font size 12pt, 1.5 line spacing are to be submitted via email to vetsciencecongress2019@gmail.com along with the scanned copy certificates (Authorship, bonafied student and guidance certificates)details like delegate category (type), bank transaction number and date, amount remitted and the registration number allotted in online registration. The abstract should show the author details, affiliations and should cover objectives of study, experimental techniques employed and important findings not exceeding 250 words.

Acceptance of the abstracts will be intimated through website announcement/e-mail only. The authors of the abstract accepted for oral/poster presentation will have to submit their full papers for including in the Congress Compendium. An author can make only one oral presentation in the science congress, provided the abstract is recommended by the review committee, even if he/she might be author in more than one paper. Registration is mandatory for participation/presentation of papers. Authors who have registered in the congress shall only be entitled for oral/poster presentation. Under graduate students shall only be entitled for poster presentation for the research work done under the guidance of a veterinary faculty(with guidance certificate). Guidelines for preparation of abstracts and full papers are available at the website. Under graduate/ Post graduate student delegate shall also submit a bonafied student certificate from the Head of the Department or Major Advisor where the work is carried out. The last date of online registration and abstract submission is 15th August 2019.
